"Desire to Travel"
A Wanderlust Poem
( Alyssa Scheidemann)
Unlock and open my skyway gate
Burst through it like a caged swallow,
Caroling along to the hum of my own song,
To wherever the winds go, my wings follow.
I'll travel to the ends of the Earth;
Climb castles to the whipped cream clouds,
Comb the sands of the islands,
And fly high to any earthy mounds.
Temporarily grounded to the home nest
Go ahead, unlock the skyway gate
Of this swallow's cage - no more stand still rests.
Unlocked and opened is my skyway gate.
I'm caroling along to the hum of my own song.
Spreading my wings out wide,
I'm traveling all lifelong.
Calling all the wandering souls.
For your ears that listen to the wind, birds and river.
Lightweight handmade feathers adorned with faceted amazonite roundelles, turquoise and a asingle fiery moonstone roundelle.
